if only
walking to work I spied
a perfect image, a picture ripe
for the taking and I thought
if only I had the other camera
the one with this and that
the camera that is not this one
that is too heavy to carry
that is cumbersome to use
if only I had the something-I-left-behind
then
then I could take this picture
the moment would be complete;
regret evaded.
days later I found (while digging
for a midmorning snack)
that same camera
the one I didn’t know I had
the one whose weight went unnoticed for three days.
it was there all along
snug behind me
waiting.
a perfect image, a picture ripe
for the taking and I thought
if only I had the other camera
the one with this and that
the camera that is not this one
that is too heavy to carry
that is cumbersome to use

A camera snugged in is a good thing.

Thanks, v-v. I love your photographs. :) Poetry Thursday is something I often mean to do and have not yet gotten to.
